This position is onsite at Bell’s Commercial Business Center in Fort Worth, TX.
Bring your experience and ideas to support the sustainment of our commercial fielded fleet. You’ll design, develop, and release engineering data for complex mechanical system components, including blades, hubs, swashplates, shafts, bearings, gears, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, airframe structures, and other supporting components. You will also play a key role in subsystem integration, manufacturing support, assembly, and validation, ensuring these components meet air vehicle performance and safety requirements while adhering to best practices, customer expectations, and industry standards.
What you will be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer\:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, manufacturing centers, procurement teams, suppliers, and customers to provide upgrades, product improvements, and sustainment solutions for the commercial fielded fleet.
- Develop detailed, assembly, and installation design definitions using 2D and 3D technical data through CAD software and analytical tools.
- Provide technical direction on fielded fleet issues to Product Support Engineers (PSE) and Customer Service Engineers (CSE) who interface directly with commercial customers.
- Support procurement and suppliers by approving frozen planning and dispositioning discrepant components.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to achieve objectives across all commercial Bell models, including current production and legacy platforms.
Skills You Bring To this Role
- Proficiency in mechanical design layout and detail design, requirement capture, and specification development.
- Proficiency with mechanical computer-aided design tools such as CATIA v6.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) requirements.
- Demonstrated success working in team environments and effectively communicating technical data and concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks in dynamic environments while managing change effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
What you need to be successful\:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience within aerospace, automotive, or similar industry. Rotorcraft design experience is preferred .
