Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Electrician to perform the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems operating at 600 volts and above. The ideal candidate will be a specialized professional with a strong understanding of electrical theory, safety protocols, and industry codes. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of our high-voltage power distribution and generation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

System Maintenance: Install, modify, and repair high-voltage electrical equipment such as transformers, generators, and circuit breakers. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on both overhead and underground power lines.

Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues, including shorts, opens, and cable breaks, using advanced testing equipment. Respond to emergency calls for power outages or system failures to quickly restore service.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations from OSHA and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment safely, including aerial bucket trucks.

Documentation & Reporting: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan work. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections.

Desired Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program is essential.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in the electrical trade, with at least 2 years specifically focused on high-voltage systems (600 volts and above).

Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of high-voltage electrical principles and safety standards. Proficiency in reading blueprints and strong troubleshooting skills.

Leadership: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Certification: A valid state-issued Journeyman or Master Electrician license is required. A valid driver's license is also necessary.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment (50+ pounds) frequently.

Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, and stoop for extended periods, and work at heights on poles and aerial platforms.

Must be able to work in various conditions, including exposure to extreme weather, loud noise, and confined spaces.
