**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Welding and Cutting:**
- Assemble, fabricate, and repair metal parts using manual and semi-automatic welding equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine layout and sequence of operations.
- Utilize tools such as plasma cutters, oxy-fuel torches, and other cutting devices to achieve desired cuts and shapes.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding and cutting equipment.
- **Soldering and Brazing:**
- Join and assemble components with precision using soldering or brazing techniques.
- Select appropriate methods for joining metals based on strength and quality requirements.
- Inspect joints for quality assurance and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- **Quality Assurance:**
- Conduct thorough inspections of completed projects to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Identify defects or errors and apply corrective measures.
- **Safety and Compliance:**
- Adhere to all safety protocols and occupational guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Stay informed on industry standards and advancements in welding technology.
- **Collaboration and Communication:**
- Work collaboratively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure project completion.
- Communicate effectively to resolve issues and provide status updates on assignments.
- **Continuous Improvement:**
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute ideas to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the department.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience in welding, cutting, soldering, and brazing within a manufacturing or construction setting.
- Proficiency in using welding equipment and tools, including MIG, TIG, and stick welders.
- Strong understanding of metal properties and characteristics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to welding and metal fabrication.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, standing, and bending for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Capable of handling heavy materials and equipment safely.
