Job Description:
Our client, a multidisciplinary AECM firm with a strong east coast presence, is looking to hire a Construction Inspector. This would be a full-time, direct-hire position working for their firm, based in the Princeton / South Jersey area. This role will also require travel to worksites as needed.
Their firm is seeking two experienced Construction Inspectors to support infrastructure projects across the Trenton, NJ region. With a strong portfolio in transportation and structural work, they are expanding their inspection team to meet growing project demands.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity ideal for candidates with 2.5 to 3+ years of construction inspection experience, specifically in bridge, highway, or structural projects. Those with railroad experience and familiarity with NJ DOT or NJ Transit will be given strong consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site inspections of bridge, highway, and rail-related construction projects.
Monitor contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and photographic documentation.
Liaise with engineers, contractors, and agency representatives to ensure timely communication and issue resolution.
Identify and document deficiencies, recommending corrective measures when needed.
Support quantity verification and documentation for pay estimates.
Promote and enforce adherence to safety standards and site regulations.
Required Qualifications:
At least 2.5 to 3 years of experience inspecting bridge, highway, or structural construction projects.
Experience working on railroad-related construction sites.
Familiarity or experience working with NJ DOT and/or NJ Transit inspection protocols is highly preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable with field documentation tools and inspection software.
Preferred Certifications
NICET Level II or III in Transportation/Construction Materials Testing or a similar discipline.
Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in place of certification.
