Electron Beam Welder

We are seeking a skilled Electron Beam (E-Beam) Welder with experience in precision welding of aerospace components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating E-beam welding systems to perform high-integrity welds on critical aerospace hardware made from exotic alloys and tight-tolerance parts. This position requires strict adherence to aerospace standards, including NADCAP and AS9100, and a strong understanding of vacuum welding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate E-beam welding systems to perform welds on aerospace-grade materials such as titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys.

• Interpret aerospace engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and weld symbols to meet customer and program specifications.

• Perform welds in accordance with NADCAP-approved procedures and AS9100 quality standards.

• Fixture, align, and prepare parts for welding, ensuring proper joint fit-up and cleanliness in a vacuum environment.

• Maintain welding parameters, schedules, and logs; accurately document weld operations per aerospace requirements.

• Work closely with Quality Assurance to conduct in-process and final weld inspections using visual and NDT methods (e.g., X-ray, dye penetrant).

• Support welding process development and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

• Follow all cleanroom, FOD control, and safety protocols required in aerospace production environments.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED); technical school certificate or A.S. in Welding Technology preferred.

• 3+ years of hands-on E-beam welding experience , preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.

• Demonstrated proficiency with aerospace welding specifications and documentation standards (e.g., AWS D17.1, AMS, or equivalent).

• Ability to work from and interpret complex aerospace blueprints, travelers, and process sheets.

• Familiarity with NADCAP audits and special process compliance requirements.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with precision measuring instruments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience welding components for aircraft engines, satellites, rocket propulsion systems, or high-performance aerospace structures.

• Current or previous certification in electron beam welding under aerospace specifications.

• Knowledge of vacuum chamber operations and preventative maintenance practices.

• Experience in cleanroom manufacturing and working with sensitive materials.
