Job Title: Intercompany Welder

Job Description

Join us as an Intercompany Welder, where you'll be engaging in fabrication for plate production with a focus on quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize all standard operating procedures in relation to plate fabrication and stud gunning.

  • Ensure that product standards for quality and productivity are met.

  • Process paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Apply all safety measures when working in the shop and with machines/hand tools.

  • Maintain a clean working environment and a positive attitude.

  • Maintain and operate cutting torches, stick, and wire welding equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 75 lbs.

  • Standing for long periods.

  • Working in all extreme weather while following company weather policies.

  • Working long days and Saturdays as needed.

  • Ability to read blueprints (3+ years in a relevant area desired).

  • Skill in welding, especially structural steel and MIG welding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to receive and implement specific instructions.

  • Ability to review and understand prints.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.

  • Knowledge of different material types such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

  • General understanding of using and maintaining power tools safely and effectively.

  • Ability to drive a fork truck (not required).

  • Education: Recent Weld Certificate or program preferred.

  • Ability to pass written Weld and Blueprint Tests.

Work Environment

Work the first shift from Monday to Friday, starting at 6 am until finished (8 or 10-hour days). Join a smaller team of 15-20 people in a newer fabrication shop located near Army Post Road. Expect a hands-on environment where effort, attitude, and attendance are valued. Adhere to PPE requirements, including jeans, a work-appropriate shirt, steel-toed boots, a weld helmet, and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CARLISLE, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
