The Electrical Engineer II will be a part of a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers responsible for the design and development of new innovative products for the Nordson Product Assembly Division. The EE II will take ownership of assigned projects and will lead all required electrical design support and development activities to completion - from project planning to product design, verification, and regulatory certifications. The EE II will work closely with software and mechanical engineers to ensure full system integration and compatibility of hardware and software components. The EEII will also support and collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and external suppliers to ensure seamless launch and commercial success of new products.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Electrical Architecture Requirements - work with product management, the sales team, and software and mechanical engineers, to translate high-level product requirements to electrical architecture requirements and ensure seamless system solution integration.
  • Support Electrical Design or Modifications - Support Senior EE with electrical design with a focus on reliability, component risk management, and time to market. This includes detailed electrical schematic design, wire list creation and BOM creation.
  • Hardware Testing and Validation - formulate and execute detailed test plans to validate new hardware designs, ensuring all functional, performance, safety, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Fault Analysis - diagnose and resolve all hardware design bugs and defects.
  • Technical Documentation - document all architectural and design decisions, schematics, revision history and defect resolutions, test plans, and test and validation results.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of hardware design experience in a team environment.
  • Experience in prototyping, bring-up, debugging, and design validation.
