Nuclear Design Engineer

Your future? Let's build it! Volt is immediately hiring a remote Nuclear Design Engineer. As a Nuclear Design Engineer you will: Perform core sizing, optimization, and lifetime analysis. Fuel Cycle Analysis: Evaluate fuel consumption, reactivity feedback, and criticality. Use Monte Carlo codes (e.g., MCNP, Serpent, OpenMC) for detailed neutron transport simulations. Apply deterministic codes (e.g., CASMO/SIMULATE, HELIOS) for reactor physics calculations. Develop irradiation targets for radioisotope production and assess their impact on reactor performance. Stay updated on international reactor design research and validation experiments. Technical Reporting: Document findings using modern tools and write clear, thoughtful technical reports. Experience with the following code suites preferred: HELIOS/PRESTO, CASMO/SIMULATE, SCALE/PARCS. This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have: A Bachelor's degree (BS) in Nuclear Engineering. At least five years of experience in Neutronics and Nuclear Design.
