Job Responsibilities/Duties
Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C), the prime contractor for the Integrated Tank Disposition Contract (ITCD), delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nations largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste.

H2C seeks a Project Manager for the Advanced Modular Pretreatment System (AMPS) Project as part of the Capital Projects organization. AMPS is one of the major capital projects at the Hanford Site that is designed to remove cesium and suspended solids from the 200 East Area Tank Waste. Delivering that system is a critical step in preparing compliant waste feed to the Low-Activity Waste Vitrification Plant.

The Capital Projects organization executes safe and compliant projects needed to support the ITDC mission in compliance with DOE Order 413.3B, "Program and Project Management for the Acquisition of Capital Assets" for capital line-item projects. The organization performs design, procurement, construction, testing and turnover of all project field activities. The organization is structured to utilize an Integrated Project Team approach, which includes supporting functional organizations.

The specific duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager include but are not limited to:
* Function as lead Project Manager
* Complete H2C High Hazard Operations Project Manager qualification and act as a fully competent project manager in all conventional aspects of managing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), capital improvement or facility/infrastructure update projects from initiation through closeout in accordance with quality standards and requirements
* Complete H2C Control Account Manger (CAM) qualification and perform CAM duties for accounts assigned.
* Develop scope, schedule, and budget baselines. Implement changes management and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methods to maintain baselines and report on results.
* Take ownership of and manage H2C efforts through all phases of the DOE Order 413.3B Critical Decision process when applicable.
* Develop and maintain productive working relationships with DOE staff.
* Communicate project requirements to other H2C organizations and integrate their efforts to achieve successful project delivery.
* Take initiative to drive decisions on engineering problems and methods and represent the project in conferences to resolve important questions and coordinate work.
* Demonstrate interpolative thinking, utilize advanced techniques, modifications or extensions to practiced theories, and is generally seasoned technically.
* Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
* Contribute to development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to facilitate integrated team collaboration and achieve project milestones.
* Must be able to communicate with peers and management clearly and concisely.
* Must take prompt action to accomplish assigned objectives and understand/justify issues and opportunities.
* Identify and evaluate potential scope changes and implement change management process as necessary.
* Advise management of developments that could impact project scope, schedule, costs, and client relations.
* Provide project performance presentations to senior management and the client.
* Ensure Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS) Principles are incorporated into project activities.
* May act as a change agent to ensure lessons learned are applied to improve future projects.

Required Qualifications
Grade 21:
* Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline; and
* Twelve (12) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Grade 22:
* Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline; and
* Fifteen (15) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

*Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Desired Qualifications
* Current H2C PM and CAM qualifications, or equivalent industry certifications.
* Demonstrated performance managing and delivering all aspects of an engineering, procurement and construction project design, procurement (including fabrication), work package planning, construction, testing, turnover and readiness.
* Project Manager Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute
* Knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, software.
* Ability to understand and interpret various engineering documents, drawings and schematics.
* Extensive understanding of facility processes, systems and equipment.
* Knowledge of EVMS as implemented by Department of Energy (DOE).

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.

Hiring Range Minimum: $142,038
Hiring Range Maximum: $209,688
