Purchasing Agent

Position Explanation:
Responsible for managing the inventory levels of established product lines. Ensure that the quantity of materials retained in inventory will meet customer needs. Complete Product life cycle management. Position is in office in Concord NH

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform purchasing duties for a select set of product lines.

Resolve any issues related to their product lines.

Run various purchasing reports to be used in making decisions on: target buys to maximize shipping costs and discounts, timing of purchases, open transfers, recent purchases, and back orders.

Periodic product line maintenance to allow automated system controls to work properly.

Act as a liaison with the branch system to collaborate on purchasing issues

Train branch team members on a variety of purchasing related areas.

Collaborate with branch personnel on new product items and monitor new product items over time to ensure that it is necessary to stock the product.

Generate and maintain collaborative, friendly relationships with branch employees, vendors and other corporate departments.

Perform all work in a safe manner and report all workplace safety concerns and injuries to management.

Purchase product in a timely manner to ensure appropriate balance of order and line points.

To negotiate the best purchase price for product. Manage product line inventory levels in keeping with company goals.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 to 4 years' experience in purchasing role. Good knowledge of plumbing and heating products is required. Cloud Suite Distribution by Infor. We are in the process of implementing Blue Ridge. Above average excel skills are necessary.
