Project Engineer Water Treatment Facility

Location: Asheville, NC

Duration: 6+ Month Contract (with potential for long-term extension)

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and review technical studies, submittals, and design plans for public and private development projects.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet contract specifications and project milestones.
  • Prepare and validate engineering calculations, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
  • Support construction activities by attending progress meetings, reviewing shop drawings, and issuing RFI responses.
  • Investigate and resolve field changes and technical challenges during construction.
  • Manage daily project planning and design tasks.
  • Contribute to proposal development, including scope definition and cost estimation.
  • Certify engineering reports, specifications, and drawings.
  • Mentor and oversee engineering interns and technical staff.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in water treatment, construction, and project engineering.
  • Strong project and construction management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in RFIs, mechanical systems, and change order processes.
  • Familiarity with industrial construction and troubleshooting.
  • Software proficiency: Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project coordination and electrical engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to interpret bar graphs and apply practical problem-solving skills.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
