Job Description
A large environmental drilling company is seeking skilled mechanics to assist in the shop with building and repairing diesel engines and assembling equipment for drilling rigs. The role involves handling hydraulic repairs and working with equipment similar to heavy construction or farm equipment. The position may also require spot welding or collaboration with fabricators.
Must Haves
Experience in building and repairing diesel engines.
Heavy equipment mechanic experience.
Proficiency in hydraulic repairs.
Basic electrical knowledge.
Ability to work with blueprints.
Responsibilities
Repair and maintain drilling rigs as they return from the field.
Build and overhaul diesel engines.
Perform hydraulic repairs and handle equipment similar to heavy construction or farm machinery.
Collaborate in assembling equipment for drilling rigs.
Possibly perform spot welding or coordinate with fabricators.

Dress code requires steel toes, jeans, and a work shirt.
Day shifts from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary, reflecting the busy nature of the shop.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Can only guarantee 1mo of work but very likely to keep extending their needs and potentially even bringing direct if there's enough work.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
