Union HVAC Service Technician

We are looking for a Union HVAC Building Automation Service (BAS) Technician to join F.E. Moran Group of Companies and work on projects in the Chicagoland Area. As a HVAC BAS Technician, you are responsible for programming, commissioning, and servicing commercial building automation systems.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

• Member of LU 597, required

• Skills:

• Knowledge of principles and practices of HVAC BAS maintenance and repair, hazard, and safety practices common to the trade

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Able to think critically, analyze, and problem solve to drive results

• Work independently as a self-starter

• Utilize computer and software technology in the performance of duties

• Certification in Tridium or other control systems

• Ability to travel to job sites local to the Chicagoland Area

Responsibilities:

• Understand design engineered drawings for new and existing projects; mark-up as-built drawings and wiring diagrams
• Interpret and comply with intended sequence to program and implement control strategy
• Develop controller logic and graphical interface for building automation control systems for owner facilities
• Understand and troubleshoot networking topologies such as Ethernet and BACnet
• Maintain records and reports as required by the Company, Customer, City, and State
• Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of items required to complete necessary installations and repairs
• Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate HVAC service issues
• Manage customer service relationships and expectations; Provide training of the control system and technical support to new or existing customers
• Adhere to safety practices and comply with OSHA requirements
