The City of Huntsville's Public Works Services department is seeking qualified PWS-Maintenance/Constructions employees to fill our

Equipment Operator III (Jet/Vac Truck) position.

Equipment Operator III (Jet/Vac Truck) at a Glance:

This is skilled work in the operation of heavy equipment used in construction, maintenance, sewer maintenance, and repair work. This classification differs from an Equipment Operator II position in that a majority of the incumbent's time is spent operating heavy equipment or transporting large pieces of heavy equipment. Work involves responsibility for operating a piece of heavy equipment at assigned work areas. Equipment includes bulldozers, front end loaders, sewer rod machine, jet truck, combo jet trucks, battwing, mott, or boom ax tractors, flail mowers, motor graders, knuckle boom trucks, backhoes, scrapers, Jet/Vac truck and other heavy equipment. The employee must be alert to protect others from injury while performing essential functions. In the absence of equipment operating duties, employees in this class participate in manual labor activities.

Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:

High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency is desired and considerable experience in the operation of heavy equipment and heavy trucks, supplemented by some experience in the operation of heavy equipment such as backhoes, graders, excavators, dozers, loaders, concrete agitators, fuel trucks, motts, batwings, boom ax tractors, combo jet trucks or lowboys; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
