Sheet Metal Journeyman Job Description We are seeking a skilled Journeyman/Foreman Sheet Metal Installer with 5 to 10 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction. This role demands a motivated self-starter with a positive attitude. The position involves installing hanging straps, round and rectangular ducting, uni-strut hangers, air-handlers, and ductless split systems, often working on ladders and scissor lifts. Responsibilities Install assemblies such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning units, and furnace casings in supportive frameworks. Select gauges and types of sheet metal or non-metallic material according to product specifications. Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets. Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites using shears, hammers, punches, and drills. Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts using hand tools and portable power tools. Perform tasks such as cleanup, relocating material, and any other duties required by the foreman to ensure project completion. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Installer. Experience in commercial and industrial construction. Proficiency in installing rectangle, square, round, spiral, rigid, and flexible ductwork. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Good physical condition and ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to complete high-quality work under tight deadlines. Must have a valid driver's license. Reliable transportation. Possession of personal sheet metal tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Completion of trade school or an apprenticeship is a plus. OSHA 10 or 30 certification is advantageous. Why Work Here?
