2nd Shift - Maintenance Electrical Technician 6 - Turkey Plant

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, and performing preventive maintenance on all facility equipment. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, and adherence to company policies and procedures while supporting production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues on facility equipment and company assets.

• Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules to minimize downtime.

• Respond promptly to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, including emergency situations.

• Accurately document all maintenance activities, repairs, and corrective actions.

• Start up and shut down all equipment before and after production without supervision.

• Read and interpret programs to assist with troubleshooting tasks.

• Maintain and certify all platform scales, bench scales, and truck scales in compliance with Tyson Foods Inc., USDA, and state requirements.

• Assist other mechanics as needed to ensure efficient workflow and equipment functionality.

• Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and other required programs.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Electronic Technology or a related technical field preferred; equivalent technical training or relevant experience (skilled trade, military, etc.) will be considered.

• Proficiency with Windows-based applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; SAP Plant Maintenance experience is a plus.

• Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits, industrial electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

• Demonstrated experience in electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.

• Relevant technical certifications preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.

• Hands-on experience with electronic motor drive technologies, including servo, AC/DC, VFD, and stepper systems.

• Understanding of microprocessor operations.

Travel:

Occasional travel required (15 trips annually).
