For that I need to remove a load bearing wall. Also I want to change my current cabinets to make an L shape which will cover the current door between kitchen and family room and so need to move that door around 4 ft. That door is part of a load bearing wall too. This project area is in first floor of my 2 storied colonial home and I do have support in my basement for these walls. As I will pull town permit for this project I need to include structural engineering design with the permit application. In the attached photo, you can see the drywall between kitchen and dining with doors to family room. I want to remove that wall and move that door to family room towards left i.e. towards the dining room.
