Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
The role involves imagining, designing, and developing products and systems as part of an integrated engineering team, collaborating across engineering teams to create solutions that meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
Imagine, design and develop products and systems as part of a highly engaged and integrated engineering team.
Collaborate across engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of customers.
Participate in all phases of product development.
Refine engineering talents in a team-based culture by working with innovative products and technologies.
Collaborate in project teams to establish effective solutions to complex engineering problems.
Improve the world by working on teams that develop modern solutions to complex problems.
Design engineering using CAD based modeling.
Conduct engineering analysis and weight optimization.
Design for manufacturing and cost estimation.
Present products.
Gather voice of customer feedback.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
3+ years of mechanical design and engineering experience with NX and Teamcenter
Requirements
Experience in engine or APU design.
Proven application of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), both in generating drawings and checking drawings generated by others.
Experience in conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design phases.
Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
