Welding Supervisor
Thursday - Sunday 6am-4pm (with flexibility to work during the week as needed)

A Welding Supervisor to assist with hiring and managing the day to day operations. Responsibilities of the Welding Supervisor include the ability to recruit, interview, and assess welding candidates. This individual oversees welding operations, ensures safety and quality standards are met, and also participates in the hiring process for new welders.

Welding Supervision:
  • Supervising and leading welding teams
  • This includes assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, and providing guidance and support.
  • Ensuring safety compliance
  • Enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety training, and investigating accidents.
  • Maintaining quality standards
  • Inspecting welds, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective actions to ensure work meets quality standards
Monitoring production:
  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), such as output, quality, and safety
  • Developing and mentoring welders
  • Providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Managing documentation
  • Maintaining records of welding operations, quality control, and personnel information.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues
  • Diagnosing and resolving problems related to welding processes and equipment
Recruiting Responsibilities:
Participating in the interview process
Serving as a technical expert during interviews, assessing candidates' skills, experience, and safety awareness.
Evaluating weld tests
Assessing the quality of welding samples and providing recommendations to operations leadership.
Collaborating with HR and recruiting teams
Working with the HR department and recruiting team to identify and attract qualified welding candidates.
Assessing candidates for cultural fit
Evaluating whether candidates align with the company's values and work environment.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive welding experience
  • In-depth knowledge of various welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team, communicate technical information, and provide constructive feedback
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot welding issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Thorough understanding of safety protocols
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a welding environment
  • Experience with quality control procedures
  • Ability to conduct inspections, assess weld quality, and implement quality control measures.
  • Proficiency in relevant software
  • Familiarity with software for documentation, reporting, and communication
  • Experience in recruiting and interviewing
  • Assessing candidates' skills and cultural fit for welding positions
  • Ability to evaluate weld test results
  • Assessing the quality of welding samples and providing recommendations to operations leadership
