Description:

The Boiler Operator is responsible for maintaining the boilers, chillers and geothermal system to keep them running at the facility at all times.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitors and adjusts temperature, pressure, water level and chemical levels on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the operating and mechanical maintenance and PMs of all boilers, chillers and geothermal system for the facility. Clean steam generators and hot water system.
  • Keeps the boiler and chiller rooms and surrounding areas neat and clean.
  • Meets with local authorities for inspections.
  • Responsible for maintaining all log books associated with boilers, chillers and geothermal system and their controls.
  • Responsible for operating the boiler/chiller/geothermal systems and accessories, hot water system, and air compressor, water softeners, and all pumps parts associated with the boilers/chiller systems efficiently.
  • Performs all trouble shooting on boiler/chiller/geothermal systems to keep them up and running.
  • Operates and maintains water softening system and chemical dosing system.
  • Responsible for maintaining spare parts and consumable parts inventory.
  • Responds to alarms and equipment failure, notification and documentation.
  • Responsible for operating: chillers, multi stack chillers, ARU, RTU, FCU, all pumps and valves, geothermal system, water softener system, pumps, and AHU efficiently along with hot water system.
  • Responsible for following all cGMP and SOP regulations.
  • Responds to emergency calls and works on-call schedules as needed (either during or outside of regular working hours).
  • Performs daily monitoring of facility temperatures and RH%s and immediately responds to any out of specification conditions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Checking and adjusting machines or equipment using appropriate tools.
  • Following blueprints and engineering specifications while maintaining accurate work records.
  • Identifying causes of equipment or machine breakdowns.
  • Using electrical and electronic testing equipment.
  • Consulting with management regarding the replacement of damaged parts or equipment.
  • Testing machines and equipment to verify proper functionality after repairs.
  • Performing preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School or GED - Required
  • Vocational / Technical Boilers/HVAC, Blue Seal HP boiler license - Required

Experience:

  • 3 years or more in HVAC, Boiler, Chiller Mechanic and Maintenance

Skills:

  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multi-tasking. Good communication and listening skills are essential. Must effectively interact with all facility personnel, visitors and outside contractors. Welding a plus. Knowledge of lathe and milling machines a plus Work within OSHA guidelines. - Advanced

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other mechanical systems. Ability to operate power tools and diagnostic equipment to test, troubleshoot, and repair various systems. Must be able to read and follow SOPs, cGMPs, and Work Order Requests. EPA 609 Type I and Type II certification a plus.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $28.00 to $35.00 per hour. In addition, Amneal offers a short-term incentive opportunity, such as a bonus or performance-based award, as well as a long-term incentive award, such as restricted stock units, with this position within the first 12 months. Amneal ranges reflect the Companys good faith estimate of what Amneal reasonably believes that it will pay for said position at the time of the posting.
