Expected salary range of $127,800 to $142,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Directly responsible for the supervision, assignment, and coordination of Outage Valve Services Technicians across the Constellation Nuclear fleet to support safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance consistent with Constellation goals and standards. Supervise and provide direction to a multi-craft worker to support procedure use and adherence, human performance fundamentals (HU), technical human performance techniques (THU) and provide coaching and mentoring as necessary to achieve continuous improvement. Interfaces with the Clean Energy Center (CEC) schedulers and planners to plan and execute work. Provides recommendations on training, procedure changes, and other needs to support safe and efficient execution of Outage Valve Services scope of work. This role will support all CECs in the assigned region in the nuclear fleet and be required to travel. This position will be expected to oversee 6 technicians directly and an additional 20 technicians indirectly during outages. Work will be done to support the CEC valve team scope and response to known scope as well as emergent scope.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Effectively supervise craft personnel to ensure that all assigned maintenance activities are performed safely and effectively by qualified workers in accordance with CEC procedures, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, and the CEC schedule. Ensures Outage Valve Team personnel are properly supervised, trained, and qualified to perform assignments, including emergency plan qualifications.
- Oversee project and maintenance activities of multidisciplinary team to support nuclear fleet in outage valve maintenance as well as online projects, mobilization of equipment and tooling as well as interfacing with CEC management and specific contract personnel. Satisfy contractual obligations, meet project milestones, and optimize short-term and long-term company profit by effectively managing and facilitating resources.
- Participate in various aspects of work control, coordination, scheduling, and engineering meetings involving online, load reductions, forced outages and refuel outages activities, to ensure that assigned work is properly assigned, planned, and ready to work.
- Understands, supports and administers all Maintenance processes, such as the training program, surveillance program, procedure revisions and Corrective Action Program (CAP) to ensure effective work practices. Identify and support improvement opportunities, when applicable.
- Administer coaching, mentoring and performance management, including initiation of disciplinary action, for assigned employees.
- Supervise vendor inspections and repair of CEC equipment. Assure effective procurement and use of material, parts, tools and equipment.
- Ensure effective communication of company programs, announcements, policies, etc. to assigned employees and provide feedback to the company from assigned employees.
- All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience OR
- Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license with 5 years of related experience OR
- Associate's degree with 7 years of related experience OR
- High school diploma/GED with 9 years of related experience
- Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of experience in nuclear power plant maintenance
- 5 years of experience working with large bore valves, including in body welding
- Experience supervising maintenance craft personnel
