Position Overview:

This supervisor role provides leadership and direction to field staff, rendering hands-on assistance. Accountable for all aspects of each project to which field staff are assigned. Responsible for field operations, customer relations, and business development in an assigned area, territory, customer, or project. Manage the operations with a focus on safety, compliance, efficiency, cost management, and innovation. Manage construction activities to ensure company procedures are followed and compliance is maintained relative to all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Champion own safety by modeling behaviors, maintaining a drug free work environment, and performing corrective action when appropriate.
  • Serve as point of contact with customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Manage and oversee the execution of field deliverables according to customer specifications and contract requirements.
  • Manage the planning and executing of projects and contracts by organizing work methods and developing schedules.
  • Manage cost control, margin expectations, productivity, change orders and equipment reporting.
  • Manage and develop labor and employee relations.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships including attending customer meetings and preparing pre-qualification documents, proposals, and bids.
  • Ensure all project work is compliant with installation standards and is being performed safely and correctly.
  • Exercise decision-making authority.
  • Promote and monitor the safety of team members.

Qualifications/Special Knowledge Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills, understand how to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and possess strong decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient knowledge of hydro excavation techniques and standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of field experience in the hydro excavation industry, gas pipeline experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 15 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
