Job Description

Purpose

Independently perform senior-level technical support within the maintenance department. Trains lower-level Technicians on more advanced tasks.

Work hours are Day shift, 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. Shift is rotating 12 hour, 4 days on, 4 days off.

Responsibilities

  • Work includes maintaining, repairing, overhauling, inspecting, lubricating, and troubleshooting a wide variety of pumps and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Does preventive maintenance work on all plant equipment including air handlers, utility distribution equipment located throughout AbbVie Lake County sites.
  • May perform vibration analysis and balancing functions on rotating equipment. Work may be on new equipment or rearrangement and/or retrofitting of existing equipment and accessories
  • Work as a multi-skill tradesperson, doing electrical, pipefitting, building maintenance.
  • Adhere to AbbVies code of conduct
  • Maintains the function of department assets to ensure reliable equipment and quality standards are met.
  • Assists in root cause investigation and reliability centered maintenance analysis
  • Capable of training others on tasks.
  • Is proficient in multiple skilled trade disciplines and creates or edits maintenance job plans
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows)
  • Fully proficient in their core function, performing advanced level tasks
  • Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization
  • Supports continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives within the maintenance organization and/or the site
  • Understands and follows all safety and GMP regulations
  • Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization

Qualifications
  • HS diploma with 10+ yearsexperience or relevant certificate with 5+ yearsexperience; or Associates technical degree with 3+ yearsexperience, or proficient in two or more skilled maintenance functions.
  • CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or equivalent accreditation desired
  • Knowledge and ability to use advanced tools (i.e. machine tools, diagnostic tools, predictive tools)
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows)
