Electrical Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to prepare estimates for commercial and industrial structured cabling projects. This role requires experience in industrial and commercial verticals, with a focus on design build projects. The position involves developing scope letters, traveling up to 30% of the time, performing bid walks in industrial environments, and interfacing with project managers to provide firm bids for prospective jobs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for commercial and industrial structured cabling projects.
• Develop scope letters for project bids.
• Travel up to 30% for site visits, primarily returning home most nights.
• Perform bid walks in industrial environments.
• Interface with other project managers to gather information for firm bids.
• Maintain current and accurate pricing information from suppliers and contractors.
• Adhere to project safety requirements as set by the company and OSHA.
• Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism in workmanship, customer relations, and behavior.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Proficiency in estimation, low voltage systems, and electrical construction.
• Experience in bidding and electrical construction.
• Proficient with estimating software, preferably Accubid/Anywhere.
• 5 years of electrical estimating experience, including design build projects.
• Knowledge of industrial and commercial plan specifications and design build experience.
• Proficiency in engineering best practices and NEC code (2020 and prior).
• Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to write and review scope letters.
• Interpretation of blueprints and specifications.

• Open to electricians or foremen who wish to transition into an estimator position.

This role may require travel up to 30%, but most nights will be spent at home. Site visits in industrial environments are part of the job. The work environment emphasizes safety and adherence to company and OSHA standards. A high standard of professionalism and quality is expected in all aspects of the job, including customer relations and personal appearance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $58.00/hr.
