About the Role
As a Maintenance Supervisor at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all plant equipment while leading and developing a team of skilled maintenance technicians. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills, offering the opportunity to directly impact production uptime, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to drive seamless operations and ensure compliance with safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment, enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, and has a passion for leading teams to success.

What Youll Do

• Supervises, trains, and mentors maintenance technicians to ensure efficient daily operations.

• Oversees troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant machinery, including mills, welders, cutting systems, and material handling equipment.

• Develops and implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

• Enforces OSHA and company safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

• Responds quickly to equipment breakdowns, coordinating emergency repairs to minimize production disruptions.

• Monitors spare parts inventory and coordinates procurement of necessary components.

• Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

• Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and compliance reporting.

• Collaborates with production, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in steel manufacturing or heavy industry.

• 2+ years of supervisory experience leading a maintenance team.

• Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; welding and fabrication experience a plus.

• Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and Microsoft Office.

• Skilled in diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues and implementing effective solutions.

• Knowledgeable in OSHA safety standards and committed to promoting safe work practices.
