Job Description The Mechanical Design Engineer collaborates closely with Project Managers, Application Engineers, and the Production Team to create detailed layouts and drawings of systems and equipment. This role involves preparing technical documentation that adheres to established specifications, industrial standards, and the scope of work. Responsibilities
- Create top-level system layouts utilizing Magnum and buyout equipment.
- Develop system and equipment installation drawings.
- Produce assembly drawings with bills of materials and related part drawings for fabrication.
- Prepare approval drawings for internal reviews and customer reviews.
- Serve as a resource for new product development and improvements to existing equipment.
- Assist with manufacturing instructions and Operations & Maintenance documentation.
- Continuously collaborate with the production team during the design and equipment assembly phases.
- Resolve design inquiries from manufacturing or project managers promptly and resourcefully.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including special projects.
- Adhere to company standards and regulations related to Health and Safety.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Vault Pro.
- Experience in 3D design and mechanical design.
- Solid understanding of parts fabrication, equipment assembling, and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Critical-thinking skills to effectively resolve technical problems with plans and designs.
- General knowledge of engineering terminology, materials, and drafting standards.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on producing technically accurate plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with engineers and other teams.
- Effective time-management skills to meet deadlines.
- Pneumatic Conveying experience is ideal, but open to any type of machine design experience such as material handling systems and packaging systems.
- Engineering degree preferred but not required.
- Experience with AutoCAD, mechanical, machine design, new product development, and research & development.
