This position is responsible for driving and delivering profitable market share gains within the Industrial and Specialty Contractor Markets by managing currently contracted customers, developing new accounts and overseeing project continuity between the customer and regional commercial teams. Within the current customer base, the NAM is expected to thoroughly network her/himself with the customers network of influencers and decision-makers so as to maximize the opportunities for success. At the same time, the NAM is also expected to selectively bring on new national accounts that are of high value to the Airgas organization. Goals and objectives will be achieved through; i) effective hands-on management and development of accounts, ii) extensive communication throughout the Airgas and customers organization, iii) proficiency in proper planning and utilization of the holistic Airgas / Air Liquide portfolio of value propositions, products, and services. Ultimately, the position will focus on driving a value solution for large National Accounts while providing internal alignment with regional management, associates, and specialist resources to meet and exceed Airgass customer-centric expectations

  • Establish contracts with and profitably grow new and existing customers in CON markets by driving maximum consumption of Airgas products and services, effectively implementing pricing actions and promoting an optimal cost to serve position across client operations

  • Develop and grow the Airgas corporate relationship and brand with the largest and most strategic clients through the effective use of Executive sponsorship, strong contract negotiation skills and by leading regional customer-facing teams in the articulation and delivery of the segment value proposition

  • Assure the continuity at projects between customers and regional commercial teams

  • Effectively promote and integrate support organizations including Total Access, Central Services and Strategic Account support across entire customer portfolio

  • Promote and Support Airgas business units such as Red-D-Arc and Airgas Nitrogen Services by participating in joint sales efforts and contractual inclusion

  • Collaborate closely with Business Development teams such as Advanced Fabrication, Onsite Safety Services and Supply Chain Solutions to identify areas of customer value creation and shift focus from product price to process savings

  • Document and gain customer agreement over cost savings and value creation based on spend optimization, productivity gains and identified process improvements

  • Promote and exemplify Sales Force Effectiveness behaviors thereby increasing the effective sales band-with at Airgas

  • Provide dotted line mentoring and leadership to regional and local sales teams and Act as liaison between the regional company leadership, construction specialists, and others throughout the organization as needed.

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with counterparts in the Airgas regional strategic accounts organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Executive sales professional, effective and capable in situations ranging from the corporate office to the jobsite

  • Track record of demonstrated performance and achievement

  • Experience dealing with customers contract language and exceptional ability to negotiate and close significant contracts incorporating standard Airgas language

  • Drive for Results: Bottom-line oriented; steadfastly pushes self and others for results; able to stand ground as is resilient in the face of challenging customer situations

  • Adept at time management and prioritization

  • Strong presentation skills and financial acumen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong influencing and teamwork skills

  • Experience with and understanding of Airgas business: branch and basic operations, sales, asset/capital management; product lines and sales channels

  • Knowledgeable in customers business and markets and able to adapt Airgas value proposition to unique customer circumstances

  • Promotes collaboration, coordination, and teamwork across organizational boundaries

  • Ability to manage through organizational tension, sustains results and relationships and delegates tasks effectively

  • Organizational Agility: Achieve results through formal channels as well as the informal network

  • Effective Communicator: Ensures a smooth flow of information between self and others, at times in a virtual/remote setting, through clear speaking and writing, encouragement of open expression of ideas, and effective listening

  • Ability to leverage Airgas business tools such as Salesforce.com and Power BI to effectively manage the customer portfolio and sales pipeline
