DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Electrician 1, you will perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment. You will complete written work orders requiring installation of electrical fixtures, transformers, fuses, breaker panels, and any equipment needing electrical connections. You will also perform preventive maintenance and test all electrical appliances purchased to ensure operational safety. This role requires assisting the Medium Voltage Electrician as needed. In addition, you will ensure all work complies with federal and state regulations and codes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
Overtime and travel as needed
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
In accordance with the seniority provisions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, this position was previously posted for seniority candidates. Since there were no seniority candidates, it is now open to all applicants.
