QA/QC Project Engineer (Power Distribution & MRE)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled QA/QC Distribution Project Engineer to help develop work packages for Make Ready and Street Light projects using industry-accepted design and analysis tools. You will review and seal work packages for distribution designs of Junior Engineers and support various calculations and analyses essential for the distribution engineering process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work packages for Make Ready and Street Light projects using customer and industry-accepted design and analysis tools.
  • Review and seal work packages for distribution designs created by Junior Engineers.
  • Support structural analysis, guying calculations, and cable pulling calculations.
  • Coordinate protective devices and calculate electric demand and fault currents.
  • Manage coordination of conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements.
  • Develop design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments.
  • Handle work permit development, easements, and ROW applications.
  • Design mainline vault medium voltage switchgear, network system design, and distribution system protection and coordination.
  • Ensure program success in scope, schedule, and budget under the supervision of the Engineering Manager.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of electric distribution design experience.
  • Willingness to perform QA/QC design checks.
  • Knowledge of NESC Standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with distribution design software.
  • Previous experience working with energy companies directly or supporting them through third-party engineering firms.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
