WHAT YOU WILL DO :

As the Senior Construction Project Manager, you will develop and manage the design and construction of capital improvement, deferred maintenance and simple capital construction projects for Oregon State buildings and facilities. You will give consultative advice on construction methods and processes; coordinate the development of building sites; facilitate the design based on project requirements; develop contract specifications and coordinate the contract bidding and award; and oversee construction.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent exposure to construction sites where construction equipment, dust, dirt, and noise may exist.
  • Requires travel throughout the state, both metropolitan and rural areas to perform duties.
  • Driving in inclement weather, infrequently.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, crawling, climbing ladders and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Irregular hours on a frequent basis due to on-site construction after business hours that minimizes the impact on staff productivity.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Architecture, Planning or Engineering; AND three years of progressively responsible experience related to the class series concept; OR
  • An Associate Degree (or comparable course work) in Architectural, Construction or Engineering Technology; and four and one-half years of progressively responsible experience related to the class series concept; OR
  • Six years of progressively responsible experience related to the class series concept.
  • Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), Oregon Project Management Associate Certification (OPMA) or other related certification will substitute for 1 year of the qualifying experience.
  • Employee is required to possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. If not, must be able to provide an alternate method of transportation.
