About the Role: As a Nuclear Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and safety of structural designs within the energy sector. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in a diverse range of civil and structural projects for top-tier power plant clients. You will utilize your engineering skills to develop plans, construction drawings, specifications, and detailed design computations critical for project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed design and analysis of concrete, steel structures, and heavy load components to support nuclear infrastructure.
  • Perform conceptual studies, cost analyses, and seismic assessments to inform design decisions.
  • Develop sophisticated 3-D analytical models through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and response spectra seismic analysis.
  • Create and review design and construction drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to address design challenges and align on solutions.
  • Manage project tasks effectively, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Conduct field investigations and provide installation support, including the generation of as-built documentation and drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • 2-5 years of relevant engineering experience, with a focus on nuclear or heavy-load structures preferred.
  • Solid understanding of civil/structural engineering principles, including mechanics, hydraulics, materials science, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, including Mathcad, MATLAB, and finite element analysis tools.
  • Strong technical writing abilities, with a commitment to clear and effective communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while demonstrating initiative.
