From design to fabrication, we develop and deploy complex imagers for space, scientific imaging, commercial applications, spectroscopy and more.

The Imaging team is searching for a Jr. Electrical Engineer who can join a multidisciplinary group dedicated to the development of custom image sensor devices, modules, and systems for numerous commercial, and government applications. The ideal candidate will support Electro-optic test and characterization, hardware integration, and software development with a focus on test and automation. Candidates with experience in only some of these areas will be considered.

The position will work on-site in the Princeton, NJ office.

Responsibilities

  • Set up laboratory equipment and experiments to accurately measure Electro-Optic performance of Lidar Geiger-Mode APD sensors, silicon image sensors and cameras.
  • Develop accurate and reliable electro-optic tests methods, systems, and procedures across R&D, prototype, space flight and production sensor platforms.
  • Must be able to accurately and concisely present characterization results to clients, colleagues, designers, and managers

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • Some experience in APD, image sensor, or camera characterization and test desired, recent graduates with career interest welcome to apply!
  • Due to government contract requirements candidates must be a US Citizen
  • Knowledge of Electro Optic Principles and concepts with applications to imager and camera testing
  • Must be familiar with common test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, parametric analyzers
  • Must have strong PC skills
  • Analysis and laboratory automation experience desirable, including experience with automation and analysis tools such as Labview, Matlab, and ImageJ
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good presentation skills and the ability to deal effectively with clients

  • Ability to troubleshoot circuits and systems
  • Experience in use of schematic and layout tools
  • Knowledge of imager and camera performance parameters and tests
  • Knowledge of Lidar Sensors, CCD and CMOS imager architectures
  • Capable of multi-tasking

  • Desire to learn and experiment
  • Good Documentation Habits

The salary range is: $62,316-$82,575. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
