Electrical Engineer - Facilities Design

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our facilities design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for various commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and standards, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative and efficient electrical solutions.

Responsibilities:
Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, and security systems.
Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports in accordance with relevant codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), and project requirements.
Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, and coordination studies.
Select appropriate electrical equipment, materials, and components, considering performance, cost-effectiveness, and maintainability.
Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical designs seamlessly into overall building systems.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather information and verify existing conditions.
Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFI's (Requests for Information) during the construction phase.
Provide technical support and guidance during construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project coordination efforts.
Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and changes in electrical codes and regulations.

Skills:
Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM PowerTools).
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on facilities design (e.g., commercial, healthcare, data centers, industrial).
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
