**Job Summary**
Dominion Energys Nuclear Engineering teams play an essential role in the safe and reliable operation of its four nuclear power stations.
The Corporate Civil Design group is part of the Nuclear Design Analysis (NDA) organization in the Nuclear Fleet Design Engineering and Programs department. The teams responsibilities are focused on design analysis of concrete, masonry and steel structural components for the North Anna and Surry Power Stations. The team provides functional area expertise across the nuclear fleet as needed. Functional area responsibilities include: analysis and design of reinforced concrete, masonry and structural steel industrial structures; analysis and design for extreme loads such as blast, tornado wind, seismic, and heavy load drops; linear and nonlinear static and dynamic analysis for industrial structures; geotechnical analysis including foundation investigation and evaluation of lab results, bearing capacity and settlement analysis, soil-structure interaction, slope stability, and North Anna main dam inspections; and review of hydrological analysis for the sites including open channel flow analysis, dam break analysis, flood routing, station developments including roads, drainage and erosion control. The group also provides design analysis and stakeholder input for station and vendor engineering changes.
The Supervisor Nuclear Engineering Civil Design is responsible for providing leadership, structure, technical guidance to the group which includes a diverse team of technical staff. Success in the role will depend upon the Supervisors ability to:
+ communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders including with staff, peer supervisors, department management, station customers, and Nuclear management
+ constructively lead technical staff
+ plan work assignments to meet short-term priorities and long-term goals
+ nurture the technical and professional growth of the team
+ develop timely and complete strategies in response to emergent nuclear plant issues
**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience**
To be qualified for the Supervisor role, candidates must possess:
+ 7 or more years of engineering work experience
+ 1 or more years of nuclear power plant experience
+ 4 months or more of onsite power plant experience
+ Demonstrated knowledge of power plant design and operations
+ Proven ability to develop and maintain complex civil/structural analyses and calculations
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Demonstrated ability to organize and manage human resources
+ Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders
Preferred Candidates will also possess:
+ Prior work experience involving seismic analysis
+ Prior work experience related to dams
**Education Requirements**
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
+ A preferred candidate will posses a B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology
**Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description**
ANSI 3.1-2014, Section 4.4.8 (must be documented on form HR-AA-101)
Education: Baccalaureate degree in engineering or related science.
Minimum Experience for the position:
Related experience which shall include 4 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 yr. On site experience to include .25 yr.
Note: Years of experience in job summary exceed the ANSI requirement for related experience (7+ years required for Supv Nuclear Engineering).
