The Field Engineer assists and supports the Superintendent and Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision of the Lead Superintendent. The responsibilities of the Field Engineer include being a representative for the company for construction operations and require the desire to learn construction methods, procedures and administrative processes, excellent documentation skills and good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all members of the project including project team members, subcontractors, vendors, design team, etc. The Field Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team player.

This is an entry level position that is designed to provide the field engineer a diversified career path with opportunities in the field or the project management team, The position will initially spend time in the field to learn the Milhaus Construction processes and procedures, before making a decision on their career path. This position may be domiciled in OH, PA, or IN.

Essential Position Functions

  • Coordination with Construction staff both in the field and office, including the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer and Superintendents
  • Adhere to Milhaus Construction Policies and Procedures.
  • Communicates and helps enforce all company and jobsite specific safety procedures
  • Participates in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox talks, safety meetings and trainings
  • Supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors
  • Coordinate material deliveries to maintain project schedule
  • Assist in compiling, processing and confirming daily logs for labor and work in place
  • Assist in maintenance of contract documents and electronic web-based documents for field operations.
  • Review contract drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure proper coordination and installation.
  • Ensuring work is completed in accordance with quality standards and contract documents
  • Perform punch walks, creating and distributing lists of items to be addresses.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • Willingness to learn different software applications
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong math, analytical and technology skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
