Job Description:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing maintenance services and repairs in the areas of HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical.
Duties and Responsibilities
- PLC systems for HVAC
- HVAC System repairs / upgrades
- Maintain Freon usage Log
- Ventilation system installations & maintenance
- Gas distribution line install / maintenance
- Machine repair
- Troubleshoot and correct setups, tooling and malfunctions
- Operate the personnel lifts
- Operate forklifts
- Perform repairs and adaptions of equipment, such as; changing air, grease and coolant lines, switches, belts, guards
- Fabricate miscellaneous items out of wood, metal and Plexiglas
- Build or fabricate labels, devices, etc. to improve quality and production
- Use hand and power tools
- Move equipment
- Plumbing, welding, construction of metal/wood, brazing, soldering, maintenance and inventory supply check in / out using CMMS system
- Lookup MRO parts using CMMS system, if not available provide all relevant information to clerk, engineer or manager for prompt order of repair parts and rebuild machines as required
- All non-routine machine maintenance and upkeep machines as required
- Evaluate / repair / replace electrical motors and component
- Wire machines
- Install new equipment to meet all production needs
- Basic PLC maintenance
- Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area
- Practice 5Ss
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as drawings and blueprints
- Certified fork lift operator
- Welding
- Industrial electricity/wiring
- ARI EPA Certification for purchase / use of Freon
Education and Experience Requirements
- 40 semester hours of industrial trade training or 5 years HVAC experience
- Qualified electrician and basic electronics
