Duties: Under direction of the Mobile Equipment Superintendent I, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of automotive and construction equipment in an assigned geographic area.

Must have the current technical knowledge to make decisions regarding maintenance and repairs associated with Department's Mobile Equipment Assets. It is desirable for the incumbent to have knowledge and experience in Gas/Diesel, Car and Pickup repair; over the road truck and trailer repair; heavy equipment service and repair; hydraulic diagnostics; fabrication and welding; diagnostic tools; SAP/Computers; heavy emissions.
