We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Residential HVAC Technician to join our team. As the Lead Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) installation, repair, and maintenance tasks in residential settings. Your expertise in HVAC systems, strong leadership skills, and exceptional customer service will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of projects and maintaining high-quality service standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of residential HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
2. Collaborate with customers to assess their HVAC needs, provide recommendations, and offer solutions to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and performance.
3. Create detailed work plans and delegate tasks to team members, ensuring timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
4. Conduct inspections and diagnostics of HVAC systems to identify malfunctions, leaks, wiring issues, or other problems, and take appropriate corrective measures.
5. Order necessary parts and equipment, maintain inventory levels, and ensure the availability of required supplies to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
6. Keep accurate records of work performed, including service reports, maintenance logs, and equipment history, utilizing computerized systems and software.
7. Stay updated with industry advancements, codes, regulations, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance service quality and compliance.
8. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving complaints, and explaining HVAC system operations, maintenance requirements, and energy-saving tips.
9. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized HVAC program or apprenticeship is highly desirable.
2. Proven experience as an HVAC technician, with a strong focus on residential systems. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
3. In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, and proficiency in troubleshooting and repair techniques.
4. Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines related to HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance.
5. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
7. Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to clients in a clear and friendly manner.
8. Proficiency in using computerized systems and software for record keeping and diagnostic purposes.
9. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
10. EPA certification for handling refrigerants is required; additional certifications or licenses are advantageous.
