Aluminum Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled Aluminum Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in MIG welding on aluminum structures, working from blueprints to fabricate and assemble metal structures and fixtures. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet AWS D17.1 & D1.2 Aluminum standards. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on aluminum structures following blueprints. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and fixtures. Ensure welding meets AWS D17.1 & D1.2 Aluminum standards. Pass Aluminum 2G and 3G .090 square groove GMAW welding qualification tests. Operate hand tools, power tools, and various measuring equipment. Utilize chemicals and compounds for layout work. Work with forklifts, hand trucks, and dollies as needed. Lift and carry equipment/objects greater than 50lbs. Stand for prolonged periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, stretching, and walking. Wear required personal protective equipment including safety glasses, durable pants, steel toe shoes/boots, and hearing protection. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG and aluminum welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Minimum of 1-2 years of blueprint reading experience. Minimum of 1 year welding experience. Minimum of 1 year fabricating from blueprints. Experience welding to AWS D17.1 & D1.2 Aluminum standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications AWS Certification MIG and TIG AWS D1.1, D1.2, and D17.1 is preferred. Experience with D1.1 & D1.2 steel is a plus. Ability to create airtight welds and work with welding fixtures. Familiarity with production techniques and fitting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Media, Pennsylvania. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
