Structural Engineer - Technical Lead Location: Cary, NC Work Schedule: On-site Tuesday through Thursday (3 days/week) with Monday & Friday - WFH Key Requirements: Professional Engineer (PE) license is REQUIRED - candidates without this will not be considered. Structural Engineer (SE) license is - internal candidates currently do not hold this certification but are being considered; currently outsourcing sealing responsibilities. Salary: $120-140/ per year Summary We are seeking a Structural Engineer, Technical Lead to join Company's Engineering team. The Structural Engineering team ensures our towers maintain a high level of compliance with industry standards around capacity. Day to day you will serve as a technical expert on structural analysis of existing tower assets to provide recommendations for tower capacity modifications. As a Structural Engineer Technical Lead, you will partner cross-functionally to develop innovative solutions to technical problems as well as processes, procedures and technical policies for the structural engineering group related to your expertise. Job Description Provide technical expertise on engineering practice, as determined by the Chief Engineer; support the Engineering Technical Council with technical leadership. Review tower structures and foundations for various tenant configurations; analyze complex/unique projects using hand calculations, tower analysis software, and other accepted methods. Generate required engineering reports. Ensure system data is kept current for sales and customer reporting; adhere to quality control procedures. Drive technical advancement of peers through presentations on advanced engineering topics and industry awareness. Perform and review design modifications on projects of high and/or unique complexity consisting of tower reinforcement, extensions, and foundations; work with design team to resolve discrepancies. Address jurisdictional and structure-related issues and write letters of high complexity with resolution. Lead specialized engineering assignments and stay abreast of new structural engineering methods. Provide quality control review of analysis, modification designs, and other engineering services of high and unique complexity. Exercise technical responsibility required for sealing engineering work performed by the department. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field required. Master's degree in Civil or Structural engineering or a related field . Professional Engineer (PE) certification required. Structural Engineer (SE) license . Ability to become licensed as a PE in multiple states via reciprocity strongly . Required experience includes at least 1 of the following: Minimum of 6 years communication tower design and analysis experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction or field engineering of steel structures. Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience. Working knowledge of TIA/EIA-222 code and other relevant specifications required. Active member of professional organization/technical society required. Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveyors (NCEES) certification . Approximately 5% travel may be required in support of the position's responsibilities. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively. Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results. Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
