**Position Description**
As a valuable member of our team as a Field Engineer, youre responsible
for project layout and dimensional accuracy, interpreting project plans
and specifications, and establishing line and grade for craft and
subcontractors. Additionally, you will plan, coordinate, and manage
on-site construction engineering activities reporting continuously to
the job superintendent and working directly under the project, office,
and chief field engineers.
**Essential Functions:**
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Project survey control plan, layout work, line grade for
construction
- Checks all contract drawings and existing conditions for accuracy
and interface conflicts
- Calculate quantity requirements for earthwork, concrete, and other
materials as assigned
- Assist company supervisors and subcontractors in the interpretations
and updating of project plans and specifications
- Assist in gathering of quantities of work-in-place for progress
estimates and production reporting
- Review specifications to assist with quality control and
coordination of contractor and subcontractor performance as
delegated by the superintendent
- Assist in producing dewatering, excavation, form, lift, line,
erection and other means, methods and drawings
- Maintain and produce the as-built drawings for the owner

**Position Requirements**
To succeed as a field engineer, an individual must be able
totakedirection and work with others as a team; follow company safety
policies and participate in safety training programs; be able to read
and understand construction plans and specifications; and possess
knowledge of surveying techniques, use of instruments and relevant
software. A desirable field engineer will have a Civil Engineering,
Construction Engineering, or Construction Management degree from an
accredited institution.
