Senior Project Estimator

Job Description

Join a leading company in site development and excavation as a Project Estimator, where you will play a crucial role in preparing bid proposals, developing conceptual budgets, and performing accurate takeoffs for earthwork and utility components of various construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents.
  • Perform precise takeoffs for utilities and earthwork using Agtek or Carlson Takeoff.
  • Prepare thorough, accurate, and competitive bid proposals.
  • Develop conceptual budgets for clients during preconstruction phases.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure best pricing.
  • Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Preconstruction to finalize proposals.
  • Present bid packages to clients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings as required.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients to ensure their needs are fully understood and met.
  • Uphold the companys standards for professionalism, teamwork, and service excellence.
Essential Skills
  • Experience bidding jobs from $2 - 50 million, estimating around 30 - 50 jobs a year.
  • 510 years of experience estimating heavy civil or site development projects in the private sector.
  • Experience in the warehouse construction sector is required.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including B2W Estimate, Agtek or Carlson Takeoff, Bluebeam, MS Project, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred (not required).
Work Environment

The role is based in an office environment, working alongside three other Estimators and reporting to the Vice President of Preconstruction. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM. This position includes benefits such as a company truck and gas card.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
