Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a drafter to assist in planning and preparing detailed drawings by applying standardized drawing techniques from detailed sketches, verbal instructions, and notes under the direction of an engineer. The role involves collecting initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers, and combining relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification. You will apply drafting standards and procedures to draft control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection diagrams while coordinating with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details according to company standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and preparing detailed drawings using standardized drawing techniques.
  • Collect initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers.
  • Combine relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification.
  • Apply drafting standards and procedures to draft control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection diagrams.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details.
  • Provide a range of drawing production work including problem analysis, layout, detailing, and drafting on projects of substantial variety and complexity.
  • Assist in drafting activities with designers and drafters in other disciplines.
  • Communicate and correspond with internal design resources and external clients and personnel.
  • Execute design changes and project drawing revisions.
  • Maintain CAD proficiency and work toward mastering current CAD systems.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience with Microstation
  • Solid understanding of drafting and design principles
  • Knowledge of CAD systems including Solidworks, Revit, Civil 3D
Work Environment

You will work in a collaborative environment utilizing various CAD systems such as AutoCAD, Microstation, Solidworks, Revit, and Civil 3D. The position requires correspondence with internal design resources and external clients, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards. Dress code is professional.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
