Position Overview:
The Off-Road Supply Chain Execution team will work cross-functionally to develop and implement margin expansion ideas along with supply chain countermeasures to reduce disruptions. This team will also lead proactive supply chain risk identification and mitigation to improve supply continuity, while delivering strong performance to Build and Ship SIOP, Financial Forecasts, and Cost, Quality, and Delivery metrics. As a Project Engineer within the Supply Chain Execution team, you will be responsible for developing creative solutions to expand margins, while also leading engineering reviews and disposition of excess and obsolete inventory. This includes working cross-functionally to create, track, and implement new parts, suppliers, locations, deviations, alternate configurations, new materials, redesigns, and other enhancements in a fast-paced environment. This role will involve working on the Bill of Materials (BOMs), tracking costs and budgets, scheduling and executing changes, and ensuring that parts are available at the assembly plants when needed, all while maintaining a high level of communication across teams. This person will also leverage strong communication skills to lead cross-functional meetings and ensure all groups are up to date on key project deliverables. This role will be a pivotal driver of success for Polaris Off-Road's overall margin attainment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage simultaneous projects that span days, weeks, or months, with significant financial investment.
- Establish reasonable project development schedules from concept to production implementation in line with overall business requirements.
- Key contributor for engineering reviews of excess & obsolete materials.
- Aid in tariff engineering and related tariff mitigation strategies and implementations.
- Tracks project updates and implementations along with supporting details.
- Host cross-functional meetings to track and help solve critical parts issues.
- Analyze complex issues, propose solutions, and work to implement fixes.
- Drives issue resolution amongst the design and systems engineering teams to keep assigned project(s) on schedule.
- Supports all design-related component styling, purchasing, and manufacturing tasks with emphasis on safety, quality, reliability, delivery, and cost.
- Utilize the Polaris product development process.
- Provide direction, coordination, and design trade-offs for designers within the team.
- Coordinates development, layout, testing, drafting, and fabrication to ensure project objectives are met by schedule.
- Leads and participates in design reviews on projects to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups.
- Performs other miscellaneous project-related assignments.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field required
- 5+ years of previous experience in automotive, agriculture, or consumer product engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of supplier interaction experience as it relates to source materials/components.
- Possesses and applies extensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to solve complex technical problems and projects.
- Skilled in multitasking and executing many tasks at once.
- Decisive and prone to action self-starter.
- Creo preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exhibits outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written communication).
- Understands and actively pursues the voice of the customer to exceed customer expectations.
- A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Polaris Off-Road Vehicles.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced working environment.
Up to 10-20% of travel (primarily domestic) is associated with this role.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $78,000 to $103,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
