Job Title: Edge Band Operator

Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Edge Band Operator to run edge banding machinery used to apply edging materials to panels for cabinets, shelving, and drawer fronts. The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking or manufacturing and a strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes on all components.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate edge banding machines to apply laminate edge tape to panels.
Set up, calibrate, and adjust machine settings (temperature, speed, pressure) for optimal operation.
Inspect materials for defects before and after edge banding to ensure quality standards are met.
Perform routine maintenance on the machine, including blade replacement, glue refill, and cleaning.
Read work orders and production drawings to determine job specifications and requirements.
Monitor glue application and edge adhesion, making adjustments as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and quality regulations.
Work with the production team to meet output goals and resolve any production issues promptly.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in woodworking or machinery a plus.
12 years of experience operating edge banding equipment preferred.
Familiarity with woodworking machinery and safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints or shop drawings.
Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with brands like Biesse, Homag, or SCM edge banders.
Understanding of edge materials (ABS, PVC, wood veneer, etc.) and glue systems (EVA, PUR).
Knowledge of basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance procedures.
