Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues throughout the store, including lighting, outlets, and power circuits in sales floors, offices, and storage areas
• Perform lighting maintenance and upgrades, such as replacing ballasts, LED fixtures, high bay lights, and exterior lighting (parking lots, signage)
• Service and maintain electrical panels and subpanels, ensuring proper load balance and circuit functionality
• Install conduit and wiring for new displays, equipment, or relocated departments
• Test and repair backup power systems, including emergency lighting and battery backups
• Ensure all work complies with NEC, Indiana electrical code, and corporate facility standards
• Use lifts, ladders, and appropriate PPE to access ceiling or rooftop electrical systems
• Respond promptly to service calls, including emergency outages or safety-related electrical failures

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of commercial electrical experience, specifically in service and maintenance work
• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Indiana state/local electrical codes
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems, including lighting, outlets, circuits, and panels
• Skilled in installing and maintaining conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC) and pulling wire
• Experience working with lighting systems, electrical panels, transformers, and low-voltage components
• Ability to work independently in active commercial settings (e.g., big-box retail stores, warehouses)
• Comfortable using ladders, scissor lifts, and other access equipment
• Must provide own basic hand tools
• Must follow OSHA safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures
• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a state-recognized electrical apprenticeship is a plus
• Strong communication skills to interact with supervisors, store personnel, and customers as needed
