Job Overview:
A well-established construction firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support the successful execution of commercial and/or residential construction projects. This role is ideal for someone early in their construction management career who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is eager to learn, and enjoys solving problems on the job site and in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in all phases of project execution
Review plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers to ensure timely project delivery
Track RFI (Requests for Information), submittals, change orders, and other project documentation
Maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and report on key milestones
Ensure site safety compliance and support field operations as needed
Conduct site visits and assist with quality control inspections
Support procurement and cost tracking efforts
Use construction management software to update logs, schedules, and reports
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
13 years of experience in a Project Engineer or similar construction support role
Strong understanding of construction plans, specs, and building systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or Primavera is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to job sites
