You will play a key role in managing large-scale capital projects, ensuring successful execution on scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Key Responsibilities
Construction Project Management
- Oversee all phases of construction projects, including new builds and capital improvements.
- Lead the full project lifecycle: scope development, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and closeout.
- Directly interface with general contractors through bidding, award, construction, and final punch list.
- Evaluate and negotiate contractor bids and proposals.
- Conduct constructability reviews for electrical and mechanical systems, especially for data centers.
- Manage project documentation: RFIs, submittals, change orders, and invoicing.
- Ensure project quality control and adherence to safety codes and regulations.
- Collaborate on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis related to construction or equipment failures.
- Define system-level architecture for data center infrastructure and document performance and equipment specs.
- Support site acquisition strategy, assessing land for development viability, including infrastructure and construction feasibility.
- Review due diligence reports and coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors for pricing and design input.
- Assist in the preparation of planning and permit applications, including construction fee estimates.
- Develop project timelines, site plans, and preliminary design packages for proposed developments.
- Participate in investment documentation and approval processes.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex construction projects, particularly MEP-intensive facilities.
- Deep understanding of data center architecture, power distribution, and mechanical cooling systems.
- Proficient in reading/interpreting construction drawings and specifications across all disciplines.
- Strong vendor and contractor management skills, including experience with RFIs, change orders, submittals, and QA/QC.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations (e.g., BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA).
- Familiar with commissioning processes, power management systems, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Professional certifications such as PE, LEED, or CCM highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
