Mueller Water Products, the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening in our Decatur, Illinois brand new foundry for a Project Engineer.
Position Summary
The project engineer has the primary responsibility for preparation, justification, planning, and execution to assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensure projects are completed according to the project plans.
- Ensure charters are established and projects are appropriately scoped
- Evaluate requirements of key project stakeholders throughout the duration of the project
- Conduct critical path analysis
- Ensure Gantt charts are established and maintained
- Ensure vendor performance
- Key driver for establishing equipment /
- Primary technical writer and communicator for assigned projects
- Key driver of capital requests and approvals for assigned projects
- Primary point of contact for all functional areas of the business as related to assigned projects
Required Skills:
- Bachelors Degree required. Preferred in an engineering related field.
- PMI Certification preferred
- Knowledge of automation and robotic applications preferred
- Knowledge dealing with complex manufacturing situations, hardware specifications, quality standards, product development, CAD / CAM, and technical specifications
Required Experience:
- 6 to 8 years experience in a manufacturing environment involving high speed machining and automation
- 2 plus years demonstrated experience successfully leading projects involving highly technical components
- Strong experience working with capital project scope development and justification required
- CNC programming and application experience preferred
