Project Engineer

Mueller Water Products, the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening in our Decatur, Illinois brand new foundry for a Project Engineer.

Position Summary

The project engineer has the primary responsibility for preparation, justification, planning, and execution to assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are completed according to the project plans.
• Ensure charters are established and projects are appropriately scoped
• Evaluate requirements of key project stakeholders throughout the duration of the project
• Conduct critical path analysis
• Ensure Gantt charts are established and maintained
• Ensure vendor performance
• Key driver for establishing equipment /
• Primary technical writer and communicator for assigned projects
• Key driver of capital requests and approvals for assigned projects
• Primary point of contact for all functional areas of the business as related to assigned projects

Required Skills:

• Bachelors Degree required. Preferred in an engineering related field.
• PMI Certification preferred
• Knowledge of automation and robotic applications preferred
• Knowledge dealing with complex manufacturing situations, hardware specifications, quality standards, product development, CAD / CAM, and technical specifications

Required Experience:

• 6 to 8 years experience in a manufacturing environment involving high speed machining and automation
• 2 plus years demonstrated experience successfully leading projects involving highly technical components
• Strong experience working with capital project scope development and justification required
• CNC programming and application experience preferred
