Job Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of production operations, including production, coordination, and maintenance to ensure that production products are stored in compliance with all safety, governmental, corporate policies, and ISO standards. The objective is to ensure on-time delivery, quality, cost, production, and ISO goal achievement. This position is also responsible for coordinating and directing activities involved in the implementation and completion of projects/contracts including, but not limited to design, scheduling, construction, business expansion or retention, budgets, and construction compliance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

+ Supervising, planning, organizing resources, executing work plans, monitoring production, resolving issues, and developing projects in cooperation with all other departments to meet or exceed the product production plan.

+ Manage production staff, including coordinating work schedules and ensuring training for the various tasks and jobs they must complete. This includes SDS, Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), fall arrest, confined space entry, hot work permits, fire extinguishers, and lift truck operation.

+ Oversee production practices to prevent and reduce nonconformities.

+ Analyze and prepare written reports on program/project performance using graphs, diagrams, and other project management techniques and provide recommendations.

+ Participate in the negotiation of bids/contracts received from clients/contractors.

+ Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, decrease colleague turnover and absenteeism, and streamline work processes to ensure long term viability of plant.

+ Coach, train, support, and develop a team of flexible, multi-skilled colleagues.

+ Manage and accumulate waste including hazardous waste by following appropriate procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.

+ Manage the inventory and all JDE transactions relating to manufacturing.

+ Confer and consult with the planning manager on weekly and monthly production plans daily.

+ Work closely with the procurement team regarding the purchase of raw materials to ensure optimum inventory and costs.

+ Develop, implement, and update plant operations of all processes.

+ Review production related non-conformity issues, investigate root cause, and resolve issues.

+ Ensure site compliance with all labor, safety, and environmental regulations.

+ Ensure that WSH, Health and Safety requirements are met by supporting and participating in regular Health & Safety meetings.

+ Ensure that plant meets both ISO 9001 (2015) and 14001 (2015) audit requirements.

+ Improvement and modification of SMP/SWP (BOM) to meet required Technical Specification for Manufacturing, with raw availability and variances.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

+ 6-8 years experience in chemical blending industry desired

+ ISO 9001(2015) and ISO 14001 (2015) knowledge, preferably has some QMR/EMR experience

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word

+ Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

+ Excellent interpersonal skills

+ Must be a strong team player

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ JDE experience preferred

+ OSHA/Safety knowledge preferred

+ Experience in working with a Management of Change process preferred

+ Must be fluent in English

+ Some Spanish preferred

Education/Certifications:

+ Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

Physical Working Environment:

The position requires the need to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic, or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
